Despite the war, European business invests in the domestic agricultural industry, understanding its prospects, and with faith in the victory of Ukraine.

The Lidea team in Ukraine, aiming at the food independence of the homeland, focused its efforts on increasing investments in local seed production and implementing humanitarian programs for residents of the affected regions.

As a reliable partner of the Ukrainian farmer, we provide him with a quality product on time and in the right amount. The company increased investments in seed production from over 600 million to 1.1 billion UAH, compared to 2022, and the level of deductions to the state budget of its taxes increased by 98%, compared to 2021.

In the first, hottest months of the war, the company’s team managed to preserve the supply of seeds to Ukrainian farmers for the 2022 sowing season. Despite the logistical difficulties, the Lydeivites continued to export material from France in order to make supplies for the needs of Ukrainian farmers.

The company called this phase “Ukraine is sowing the future!” – it was important to protect food security and the independence of the agricultural market of Ukraine by ensuring the possibility of spring sowing of spring crops in 2022.

The company, with its head office in France, is an international supplier of seeds of agricultural crops, which is extremely important for our agricultural producers: corn, sunflower, wheat, soybeans, rapeseed, sorghum, fodder and cover crops.

Today, the issue is particularly acute – high-quality seed material is the basis of the future harvest and the guarantee of the country’s food security, and the opportunity for Ukraine to strengthen its export positions on the world market. And in spite of all the difficulties that Ukrainian agrarians face today in foreign agricultural markets, we need to maintain Ukraine’s position in the global agricultural sector with united efforts.

Lidea is an infrastructure company for the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex

And systematically invests in the economy of our country. In Ukraine, the company has approximately 4 thousand hectares of arable land, a large part of which is suitable for irrigation and is used for growing seeds, as well as a plant for the production of seeds, a dairy farm, its own commercial and marketing departments, and a trading department.

A team of more than 400 employees works efficiently at each stage of the value chain: carrying out research and development, field production, seed finishing and sales and trading.

This is exactly the system business, which from the beginning to the final product is produced in Ukraine and the added value is created precisely by Ukrainian hands and brains. By developing infrastructure, the company invests in Ukraine, creates jobs and pays considerable taxes, and plans to further increase Ukraine’s potential.

Understanding that today it is extremely important to support the economy of our country, all four legal entities in Ukraine, which are part of the company group, continue to work fully and steadily pay wages, including 35 mobilized employees. At the same time, all benefits and compensations for employees are preserved.

In August 2023, the team’s work was recognized by the annual Ukrainian Business Award.

Increasing production and deductions to the budget of Ukraine, the team initiates and implements direct humanitarian support to farmers with its technologies and products.

Many farmers are working near the front line, selflessly continuing to sow and harvest crops. And the presence of a sincere partner helps not to give up.

A year ago, Lidea created Telegram botwhere farmers turn to for help with the purchase of seeds, free consultations from experienced technical experts and R&D specialists, and also ask for free help with seeds.

A unique approach for Ukraine: farmers on the ground can solve problematic issues simply by writing to the Telegram bot. The company continues to aim at creating convenient services for customers, adhering to the principles of a reliable partner of the Ukrainian farmer who understands his needs.

The next day, farmers of the Kherson region will have the opportunity to sow about 50 hectares of winter wheat seed crops with free seeds of the Elite category from Lidea. Thanks to which farmers will grow 250 tons of the first seed reproductions for the 2024 sowing campaign. For these purposes, the company transfers 10 tons of the elite Sophie variety.

Wheat is a strategically important crop for our country, therefore this aid will undoubtedly support domestic farmers with high-quality seeds and contribute to ensuring food security in the region affected by military operations.

The seeds are transferred as part of the humanitarian program “Together to the sowing field“. In 2023, the team directed UAH 5.9 million of such assistance to farmers of the de-occupied Kherson region: they planted 1,091 units of sunflower for sowing, minimizing humanitarian risks and working for the country’s food security.

Spring sowing 2022 – more than 6 thousand p.o. seeds worth about UAH 19 million were received by farms in the North-Eastern region of Ukraine – Kharkiv, Sumy, Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

Together with seeds for farmers in the areas affected by the war, the people of Lydeiv must supply humanitarian aid. The initiators are company employees who work in the regions and personally see their actual needs.

The other day, in honor of its third birthday, the Lidea company in partnership with the NGO “Rotary Club “Kyiv – Capital” provided charitable assistance in the amount of UAH 339,739 to a kindergarten in Ichnya, Chernihiv region.

Even before the onset of cold weather, old wooden windows and doors in children’s bedrooms and playrooms will be replaced there, boilers will be purchased, as well as desks for older groups and educational and developmental material, and a new playground complex will be installed.

A clear awareness that our country will soon play a key role in the food market of Europe, will retain its status as one of the largest agricultural producers in the world. Therefore, it will become an interesting market for new competitors after our victory.

A sincere desire to help and a sober understanding of global economic trends are two components of the Lidea team’s success in Ukraine.

A team of Ukrainians, patriotic like-minded people working to ensure the country’s food security, the people of Lydeiv understand well the prospects of their country and its agricultural sector.
