The 2025 European Gymnastics Championship, which was supposed to be held in Tel Aviv, will be moved from Israel. This decision was taken by the European Gymnastics Union (EGS).

The “current situation in Israel” was cited as the reason for the postponement. Until April 23, EGS accepts applications for holding the championship from other countries.

“We highly appreciate the efforts of the Gymnastics Federation of Israel, which has successfully held several European championships over the past 8 years,” says the EGS statement. Also, the union will welcome applications from Israel to host the next championships.

  • According to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Ministry of Health, more than 30,000 Palestinians – mostly women and children – died as a result of Israeli shelling. There is no independent confirmation of these data.
  • On Monday, March 25, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of all hostages held by Hamas.
