China was “very dissatisfied” with the anti-subsidy investigation because it lacked proper evidence and did not comply with World Trade Organization rules.

“This investigation into the countervailing duty from Europe is based only on subjective assumptions about so-called subsidies and threats of damages. It does not have sufficient evidence to support it and is contrary to relevant WTO rules, and China is categorically not satisfied with it,” said the spokesperson of the agency. .
The European side requested China to hold consultations within a very short period of time, but did not provide “effective consultation materials”, which harmed China’s rights and interests, the spokesman added.
China called on the European side to use trade protection measures judiciously, based on the overall picture of maintaining the stability of global industrial and supply chains and the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the European Union.
China also encourages in-depth cooperation with Europe in the new energy industry represented by electric vehicles, and the creation of a fair, non-discriminatory and predictable market environment for the joint development of the Sino-European electric vehicle industry.
