The fuselage of the plane, in which Yevgeny Prigozhin was reported to be, did not have any major damage before it fell to the ground – this was the conclusion of specialists working with radar surveillance devices. The picture, taken using SAR (Synthetic aperture radar) technology and provided to CNN by the Umbra Lab company, shows that the crash site resembles an elongated oval that roughly coincides with the shape of the fuselage.
This conclusion is confirmed by video location data and footage shown by the TV channel, which shows a fuselage with engines and, apparently, only one wing falling from the sky.
Despite the fact that most of the wreckage of the plane lies next to the fuselage on the edge of the forest, other small wreckage of the plane is scattered in other places. The tail keel is approximately two kilometers to the southeast from the main crash site. Geolocation carried out by CNN showed that parts of the plane’s tail are located in a clearing near several houses.
The press secretary of the Pentagon denied the information of the Reuters agency about the missile attack – as one of the versions considered in Washington.
The US Ministry of Defense stated that there is currently no information to suggest that the plane, which was allegedly carrying the head of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin, was shot down by a surface-to-air missile.
Earlier on Thursday, the Reuters agency reported that several versions of the reasons for the downing of Prigozhin’s plane were being considered in Washington, and referred to two American officials who said that, most likely, the plane was shot down by a surface-to-air missile.
During the day after the plane crash, various mass media reported on different versions, not singling out any of them as the most likely.
