Vitaliy Akyshyn, convicted of the murder of State Duma deputy Galina Starovoytova, has withdrawn his request for parole from the colony. This was reported by the press service of the courts of St. Petersburg.
It became known on December 11 that Akyshyn asked to replace the remaining third of the term with forced labor. In the new appeal, which Akyshin ended with the phrase: “Thank you in advance and apologize for the force majeure”, he did not explain the reason for his refusal to parole.
The United Press Service of the St. Petersburg Courts accompanied the post about Akishina with a clip from the children’s humorous film magazine “Eralash”.
In May 2005, Vitaly Akishyn was sentenced to 23 and a half years in a penal colony. He was found guilty of an attempt on Starovoytova’s life and attempted murder of her assistant Ruslan Lynkov.
Galina Starovoitova was killed on November 20, 1998 on the doorstep of her apartment in St. Petersburg. In 2005, the court sentenced the perpetrators of the murder – Vitaly Akishin and Yuriy Kolchyna (he received 20 years in a strict regime colony).
In 2015, former MP Mykhailo Glushenko was also convicted of organizing the murder of a 17-year-old in the colony. In September 2021, he also asked for parole, but the court refused him.
Glushchenko pleaded guilty and gave testimony in which he named Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin), the leader of the Tambov organized crime group, as the mastermind of the crime. Hlushchenko, Akishina and Kolchyna were also called members of the “Tambov” group.
