State Duma deputy from the LDPR party Andrey Lugovoi published in his Telegram channel the home address of scientific journalist and writer Asa Kazantseva, who previously spoke out against the war with Ukraine.
Lugovoi accompanied the publication with the caption: “For those who personally want to prove to Asa that betraying one’s country is the most terrible sin.” Telegram channel “ChTD” also notes that the deputy who posted Kazantseva’s address used the “God’s Eye” service, which is banned in Russia.
Commenting on what happened, Asya Kazantseva emphasized that Lugovoi’s actions are illegal according to Russian legislation. “The good news is that there are four addresses, all of them are just places where I have ordered pizza delivery in recent years, I have only lived in one of them for quite some time,” the journalist added.
A few days ago, the Moscow bookstore “Chitai-gorod” canceled the presentation of Kazantseva’s new book “Where do children come from?”, citing concern for the safety of the author and everyone who was going to attend the event. “Chitay-horod” does not express any social and political position with this decision,” the administration of the chain of stores also stated.
- Andrey Lugovoi is a former officer of the KGB of the USSR and the FSB of Russia, co-author of many bills that tightened Russian legislation. In particular, he was one of the developers of the “sovereign Internet” law.
- In Great Britain, Lugovoi is accused of murdering former FSB officer Alexander Lytvynenko, who received political asylum in the country and was poisoned in London in November 2006. British investigators found traces of the substance with which Lytvynenko was poisoned in hotels, restaurants and airplanes used by Lugovoi. The accused himself calls it provocation and slander.
- According to media reports, Lugovoi was treated for radiation poisoning in Moscow in December 2006. A year later, he was elected a deputy of the State Duma, received immunity. In 2015, Putin awarded Lugovoi with the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”.
