Detention of migrants caused a garbage collapse in Dagestan and Ossetia

At least in two regions of Russia, Dagestan and North Ossetia, problems arose with the removal of household waste from cities due to mass checks of migrants by the police. This is reported by Kavkaz.Realii.

In Vladikavkaz, out of 43 garbage trucks, only 12 are working, – the Mash Gor publication quotes the general director of the local garbage operator. Almost all employees in the company are migrants. They were taken for a document check.

A similar situation arose in Makhachkala. “Vestnyk Kavkaza” reports that the employees of the mayor’s office and its subordinates are urgently trying to replace the migrants there.

Police raids against migrants began in Russia after the attack on the “Crocus City Hall” concert hall near Moscow on March 22. As a result of the attack, at least 144 people were killed, and more than 550 were injured. Most of the suspects arrested in the case are citizens of Tajikistan.

As reported by the “Vyorstka” edition, a week after the attack, the number of complaints against the Russian authorities from labor migrants working in the country increased sharply. Most of the complaints come from the citizens of the countries of Central Asia.
