The shelling by Russian troops of the Dnipro HPP in Zaporizhzhia on the night of March 22 caused oil products to leak into the Dnipro.

“As a result of the impact on the Dniprovsk HPP, soil contamination was recorded, oil products leaked into the water body of the Dnipro River, and the specialists of the Inspection took water samples for the purpose of laboratory research,” the message says.

Specialists of the State Environmental Inspection of the Southern District promptly inspected the affected areas in order to determine the damage caused to the environment. The inspectors took soil samples for laboratory tests and corresponding calculations.

It was also determined the area of ​​destruction waste in Zaporizhzhia:

  • along the street Slavutych more than 7200m2.
  • along the street Petro Sahaidachny (Borodynska) over 300m2.

All received materials will be transferred to the Operational Headquarters of the DEI and law enforcement officers.
