“Usually in spring and summer there is excess capacity in Ukraine, and Ukraine is able to export electricity. This year, due to significant damage to power plants, there may be a deficit in the summer as well. It will be compensated by an increase in capacity at thermal power plants, which will be available to us, as well as by the import of electricity,” Kudrytsky noted.
According to him, the repair campaign of spring-summer 2023 will be one of the most difficult in history.

“This is influenced by the large-scale destruction suffered by the power system in the winter, and the fact that several large power plants remain in occupation. We didn’t have enough of them in the winter and we don’t have enough of them now. We will activate all available generating capacities in order to maintain the balance of the energy system during the repair period,” added the head of Ukrenergo.
