In its forecast until 2029, the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) predicts that restrictions on flights in the airspace of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Moldova will remain in place.

As “European Truth” writes, this is stated in the organization’s seven-year forecast.

It is noted that the aviation industry continues to recover after the coronavirus pandemic, but the key factors that slow down this process are the Russian invasion of Ukraine, restrictions on domestic flights for environmental reasons, lack of personnel at airports and related strikes.

“Restrictions in Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian and Moldovan airspace will remain in effect until the end of the forecasting horizon (2029),” the document says.

Elsewhere in the document, it is clarified that it is about returning to the usual routes of planes.

Among the key factors of how the Russian invasion of Ukraine affects civil aviation, Eurocontrol cites the general deterioration of the economic situation, in particular, the lowering of GDP growth forecasts due to disruptions in energy supply chains, high inflation and a drop in the general level of confidence.

It is also noted that the aviation industry continues to recover after the coronavirus pandemic

As you know, Ukraine completely closed its airspace for civilian aircraft on February 24. Soon the EU countries and the USA closed their skies to Russian planes. Russia later retaliated.

We will remind, in September, WizzAir overtook from Lviv to Poland his commercial aircraft, which got stuck there at the start of a full-scale war. Two were able to return home in December Turkish Airbus military transport aircraft A400M.
