On Thursday, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow sentenced the ex-assistant of the former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Arkady Dvorkovich, to 12 years in the general regime colony. The prosecution insisted on such a term.
Anastasia Alekseeva was found guilty of receiving two large-scale personal bribes totaling 5.8 million rubles, TASS reports. At the same time, she was fined 75 million rubles, and is also prohibited from holding positions in the state and municipal administration system for 15 years.
RBC notes that, according to the investigation, Anastasiya Alekseeva received tickets and vacation passes to Thailand and the Dominican Republic from pharmaceutical companies in exchange for the promotion of drugs. The defendant, who has been in custody since February 2020, has pleaded not guilty.
The second defendant in the case is Dmitry Borysov, the general director of Medpolimerprom. He was sentenced to seven years in prison with a probationary period of six years. Borisov was also fined almost 70 million rubles. He admitted his guilt in full.
In November 2018, RBC sources reported that Anastasia Alekseeva, then working in the secretariat of First Deputy Prime Minister Anton Siluanov (now the Minister of Finance), was fired for passing on internal official correspondence to the mass media. She worked as Dvorkovich’s assistant in the former government.
- In June last year, it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had expelled Arkady Dvorkovich from the Presidential Council on Science and Education. He was a member of the council as the head of the Skolkovo Foundation, but left this position in March after criticizing the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
