Film critic and curator of a number of film festivals Alexey Medvedev, who went missing about a month ago, was found dead. The Lisa Alert search team reported this on August 18.

“Kommersant” clarifies that the body was found in the Moscow region. The exact place is not named. Medvedev lived in Mytyshchy near Moscow, where he was last seen alive on July 21. He left the house and did not return.

The cause of death has not yet been reported.

Alexey Medvedev’s relatives reported him missing on August 5. The search was conducted by volunteers and the police.

Medvedev was 53 years old. He studied at VGIK, worked as a journalist, translated foreign films into Russian, and since the beginning of the 2000s has been involved in the organization of film festivals. At various times, in particular, he was the program director of the “Message to Man” festival in St. Petersburg, the organizer of the “End of the World. East” festival in Sakhalin, collaborated with the Moscow International Film Festival, was the curator of the Russian film program at the Cannes International Film Festival, a member of the festival jury in different countries.
