In Syktyvkar, FSB officers detained the former press secretary of the “Movement of Nationalists” Alexey Kolegov. His house is being searched. This was reported by the “Sobrany Obshchestennosti Respublika Koma”, a member of which Kolegov was a member.

A few days ago, Kolegov returned from Europe. As noted in the “Public Meeting of the Republic of Koma”, there he met with other nationalists, including one of the leaders of the Free Russia Forum, Danyil Konstantinov, who was recognized as “undesirable” in Russia.

According to the meeting, the searches of Kolegov are being carried out as part of the investigation of the criminal case against the leader of the far-right “Movement of Nationalists” Vladimir Basmanov.

The case against him was initiated in April 2023. Basmanov is suspected of organizing the activities of an extremist organization, inciting hatred and justifying terrorism. He left Russia. The supporters of the organization were searched in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Pskov, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, and Syktyvkar in April. In May 2023, “Movement of Nationalists” announced the cessation of work in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Novosibirsk.

After the searches in April, colleagues stated that at that time he was outside Russia and was surprised that investigative actions took place in his office. According to him, he left the organization two years ago “due to personal problems.”

  • Aleksey Kolegov is a well-known nationalist in Koma. He headed the national-patriotic organization “Rubezh Severa” from 2008 to 2016. He was tried on charges of torture with the use of torture motivated by hatred, threats to kill, involvement of minors in crime, and vandalism. In 2016, “Rubezh Severa” was recognized as an extremist organization.
  • In 2019, after being released from prison, Kolegov became one of the speakers of the “Assembly of the Republic of Koma” and positioned himself as a fighter against corruption and an “opponent of the Putin regime.” Last year, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Kolegov’s VKontakte page was blocked, where he published posts criticizing the war in Ukraine.
