Since the beginning of 2023, 1,232 Ukrainians have become winners of the “Own Business” program and will receive a micro-grant from the state to start or develop a business worth almost UAH 300 million. This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Tatyana Berezhnaya.

“According to the results of this year’s fifth wave of submissions, 326 Ukrainians who applied for micro-grants were recognized as winners and they will receive from the state financial support for starting or expanding their own business in the amount of UAH 77 million. In total, since the beginning of the year, according to the results of five waves, 1,232 entrepreneurs will receive micro-grants for the development of their business in the amount of almost UAH 300 million.

Dozens of new enterprises will be created, the existing ones will increase capacity, open up new areas of production, and more than 2,600 workers will be able to find work in new workplaces,” said Berezhnaya.

Recipients of micro-grants

Among the recipients of microgrants of the fifth wave, 52% are women and 48% are men, 80% of the winners have higher education.

Most of them are from Lviv (46 people), Kyiv (32 people), Rivne (30 people), Vinnytsia (22 people), Ternopil (21 people) regions and the city of Kyiv (43 people).

All 326 winners of the fifth wave have entrepreneurial experience. The vast majority of these entrepreneurs plan to spend the funds of the micro-grant on the purchase of the equipment necessary for running a business.

The most popular areas

The most popular areas in which grantees will work are:

  • wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles — 94 people;
  • temporary accommodation and catering — 61 people;
  • manufacturing industry — 47 people.

Under the grant program “Own business” Ukrainians can receive a micro-grant of 50,000 rubles. up to 250 thousand UAH The funds can be spent on the purchase or leasing of equipment, the purchase of raw materials and materials, and the rent of premises.

Both an active entrepreneur and a person with no experience in such activities can receive a microgrant. Creation of 1-2 workplaces is a mandatory condition for the provision of funds. Ukrainians who received microgrants in 2022 will create about 8,000 new jobs.

This year, the budget provides 1.8 billion UAH for the “Own Business” program, which will allow about 10,000 UAH to be spent. micro-grants

The government project “eLabor” includes grant programs aimed at stimulating entrepreneurial activity and creating jobs. In particular, these are programs of micro-grants for opening or developing one’s own business, grants for the creation and development of processing enterprises, planting a garden and viticulture, greenhouse farming.
