The general director of the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theaters Valery Gergiev and the singer Shaman will be included in the list of Vladimir Putin’s confidants in the presidential elections. RBC writes about this with reference to two sources.

In addition to them, director Nikita Mikhalkov, actors Mikhail Boyarsky and Sergey Bezrukov, general director of the Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky and a number of others will traditionally become trustees. It is expected that the list will be updated by 40%, compared to the list in the previous elections. In particular, it will include conscripts and volunteers, writes RBC.

In total, according to the law, Putin can appoint up to 600 proxies. Their duties will include campaigning for Putin. It is expected that Putin will once again run for these elections as a self-nominated candidate (he ran for “United Russia” only once – in 2012).

A meeting of the initiative group for his nomination is planned for December 16 in Zaryadye. After that, Putin must collect and submit at least 300,000 signatures of voters from at least 40 regions of the country to the CEC of Russia.

Voting for the President of Russia should take place from March 15 to 17, 2024. Gennady Zyuganov, former member of the State Duma Borys Nadezhdin, former military leader of pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk Igor Strelkov (Gyrkin), journalist from Rzhev Ekaterina Duntsova have already announced their intention to participate in the elections. The “New People” party also plans to nominate its candidate.
