Alphabet published a short video about Bard on Twitter, promising that it would help simplify complex topics, but gave an inaccurate answer.

The error was in the information about which satellite first took photos of a planet outside the Earth’s solar system.

In the chat advertisement, a hint is given: “What new discoveries of the James Webb Space Telescope can I tell my 9-year-old child about?”. Bard offers several options, including the suggestion that the telescope was used for the first images of a planet outside Earth’s solar system. However, the first photos of the ecoplanet were taken by the “Very Large Telescope of the European Southern Observatory” in 2004, which was confirmed by NASA.

Earlier, Google announced that a new artificial intelligence service called Bard is being launched for trusted testers. For other users, the service will be available in the coming weeks.

The technology is designed to generate detailed answers to simple questions, such as what to cook for dinner or how to plan a party.

Google is releasing Bard amid problems in its flagship search business, which is its main source of revenue. Earlier, the Alphabet company reported that sales did not live up to expectations against the backdrop of a decline in digital advertising and investor concerns over competition in the field of artificial intelligence from ChatGPT and Open AI.

Products like ChatGPT are based on artificial intelligence generative software. Ono, for example, is able to reproduce images that represent the type of paintings written by real people. Only in the case of ChatGPT, texts are created as if written by a person.

At the end of January this year, Microsoft announced that it would invest in the artificial intelligence laboratory OpenAI for several years. Exact amounts were not named, but as early as mid-January, Bloomberg sources noted that the corporation was negotiating an investment of $10 billion.
