In the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata, the concert of the Russian singer Grigory Leps was canceled. The organizers of the event confirmed the information about this to Radio Azattyk. According to them, the decision was made due to the dissatisfaction of the city residents.
Kyrgyz mass media specify that Leps was invited to the country privately.

The cancellation of Leps’ concerts in Central Asia was preceded by extensive discussions in social networks. Many users express dissatisfaction with the arrival of an artist who supports Russia’s war against Ukraine.
The announcement of the cancellation of the performances coincided with the announcement made by Leps and the singer Nikolay Baskov – they will hand over one million rubles to anyone who destroys the tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent sanctions, Russian artists lost a significant share of the market where they could perform concerts. In particular, this affected those who openly supported the war and whom Ukraine declared a “threat to national security”, Radio Azattyk reported.
