Gruzchik from Naro-Fominsk was sentenced to 12 years in prison in the case of setting fire to a relay cabinet

The Moscow Regional Court sentenced 21-year-old resident of Naro-Fominsk Kirill Kusakin to 12 years in the colony. He was found guilty of sabotage on the railway for setting fire to a relay box in April 2023, Mediazona writes.

The details of the case are unknown, however, the press service of the court noted that Kusakina’s punishment was imposed taking into account mitigating circumstances. The court took into account the defendant’s guilty plea, his young age, partial compensation for the damage and partial admission of guilt.

As “Mediazona” writes, according to leaks from databases, until 2020, Kusakin was a student, then worked as a picker and loader in a grocery store.

After the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russia started regularly setting fire to the railway infrastructure. The accused were first tried for hooliganism, and then they began to bring charges of sabotage. In most cases, the investigation claims that the arsonists acted on the order of the Ukrainian special services.
