in 52 regions of Russia and Crimea, payments are delayed by the military

In 52 regions of Russia, as well as in the annexed Crimea, the military do not receive the required payments. This is stated in the investigation of the “Verstka” publication. According to servicemen, many of them do not receive a salary for several months, or receive many times less than the prescribed amount.

Complaints are filed by military personnel, including those who participated in hostilities in Ukraine – contractors, volunteers and mobilized, as well as their relatives. Some of them report non-payment of salaries since the beginning of the year or even since the end of last year. Some of them still receive payments, but with delays. Others receive nothing or many times less than the sums that were promised to them. Sums from seven to 15 thousand rubles per month are called. At the same time, the amount of pay for the rank-and-file, which the Ministry of Defense announced, should be 195 thousand rubles per month. The salary of the officers is higher.

Departments of the Ministry of Defense in their comments to the authors of the complaints claim that delays in payments may be caused by the transfer of servicemen from one military unit to another.

One of the servicemen’s wives, who was left alone with two children after her husband’s mobilization, says that she was informed at the United Settlement Center that her husband and his entire company were dismissed from the military unit as of January 31, but were not transferred to another unit and were not included in the monetary allowance .

According to military personnel and their relatives, problems with receiving payments began in 2023. In 2022, such cases were single.

The head of the “Committee of Soldiers’ Mothers”, Valentina Melnikova, believes that most of the non-payments are related to the administrative collapse that the Russian army has faced. In her opinion, in the conditions of hostilities, the military units were not ready to keep strict records for an unusually large number of servicemen.
