In Ivanovo, the basements will be turned into bomb shelters at the expense of the residents of the houses
The operative headquarters of the Ivanovo region proposed to convert the basements of residential buildings into bomb shelters. A copy of the protocol of the operational staff meeting is published on social networks. In the protocol signed by the governor of the Ivanovo region, Stanislav Voskresensky, it is indicated that the work on the equipment of shelters should be financed from communal payments.
According to the protocol, by the end of February, management companies and housing associations must hold general meetings of residents of multi-apartment buildings and agree on “plans for refurbishing basement premises”. Funds for “furnishing” are proposed to be taken from tenants’ payments for the maintenance of communal property.
After the start of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, there are news about inspections and the equipping of bomb shelters in many regions of Russia. First of all, this concerns the border regions, which are regularly subjected to shelling from the Ukrainian side (the authorities of Ukraine do not comment on the shelling). So, in Belgorod from mid-November 2022, they are developing an interactive shelter map and are going to post information about the nearest shelters on the streets.
In Moscow, in the fall, residents were asked to free parking lots from cars under the pretext of setting up shelters there. Also, the Department of Social Protection of Moscow ordered the design of signposts for shelters; The publication “Baza” reported on the preparation of shelters in Moscow hospitals and clinics.
