“Wagner PMC” was faced with the problem of transporting bodies from the front. The Ministry of Defense of Russia refuses to help with transportation. This is reported by “Vyorstka” with reference to participants in the ritual services market.

One of the interlocutors of the publication said that due to the conflict between PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin and the Russian Defense Department, his company had to transport the bodies of the dead from territories controlled by Russia and regions bordering Ukraine on trucks and vehicles equipped with refrigerators.

It is difficult to organize such transportation, since there are no special logistics companies in Russia for such purposes. Because of this, the body of “PMC Wagner” mercenaries is often not released to their relatives, and they have to bury empty graves, the publication’s sources claim.

“Vyorstka” also points out that against the backdrop of the war with Ukraine, Russia began to build more cemeteries. The number of tenders for these purposes increased by one and a half times per hour.

Since the beginning of March 2022, the Russian authorities have placed 39 tenders for the construction of new and expansion of existing cemeteries, “Vyorstka” calculated based on the data of state procurement. The largest tender – for 378 million rubles – was announced in May last year by the administration of Khabarovsk Krai. We are talking about an object with an area of ​​five hectares. New cemeteries are also being built in Cherepovets, Ulan-Ude, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions.

According to Prigozhin, the mercenaries of “PMC Wagner” are buried in a special cemetery in the Krasnodar region according to their will. At the end of January, The New York Times reported, based on analysis of satellite images, that the number of graves in the PMC cemetery has increased sevenfold over the past two months – up to 170 buried. Based on the photos of the buried bodies published on social networks by local activists, it can be assumed that many died in the fighting in the Bakhmut and Soledar regions of the Donetsk region.
