The Ukrainian military confirmed that their forces had left the village of Krakhmalnoe, in the Kharkiv region. The representative of the Ground Forces, Vladimir Fityo, said this on Ukrainian television.

Earlier on Sunday, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that the Russian Armed Forces in the Kupyan area had pushed out the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Krakhmalny. In Moscow, it was called the result of the active actions of the troops of the Western Group.

According to Fityo, a representative of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces left the village and moved to pre-prepared and more suitable positions. Fito simultaneously emphasized that the decision does not pose a threat to subdivisions located next to the village on the line of demarcation of the parties. “I think that this is a temporary phenomenon. The front line changes daily,” added Vladimir Fityo.

According to him, 45 people lived in the village of Krakhmalnoe before the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine, there were only a few houses that were destroyed as a result of the fighting.

The American Institute for the Study of War previously reported that on January 20, Russian troops conducted an offensive along the Kupyansk-Svatovo-Kremennaya line and took control of the village of Krakhmalnoe.
