More than thirty searches were conducted in Moscow in the criminal case against the commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), fighting on the side of Ukraine, Denys Kapustin, SOTA reports.

It is noted that the procedural status of the citizens who were searched is unknown. The Baza Telegram channel reported on several detainees, among them the winner of the television program “Battle of Psychics” Dmitry Burykov. Later it turned out that he was not detained after all.

Another Muscovite to whom the police came, Konstantin Vedysh, told journalists that he was not aware of the existence of the RDK, moreover, not so long ago he planned to go to Ukraine as a volunteer to fight on the side of the Russian army. According to Vedysh, he now plans to file a complaint about the illegal search with the prosecutor’s office. At the same time, the police did not take anything from him.

In turn, RIA Novosti, citing its sources, reported that more than 20 cold and pneumatic weapons, communication devices, neo-Nazi symbols and “correspondence with Nazis” were seized from Ukraine during the searches.

Earlier, criminal cases of terrorist attack, participation in the activities of a terrorist organization, and illegal trafficking of explosives were initiated against the commander of the Russian Communist Party, Denys Kapustin. In addition, the FSB called Kapustin one of the organizers of the failed attempt on the businessman, the founder of the Tsargrad TV channel and an active supporter of the war against Ukraine, Konstantin Malofeev. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia declared Denys Kapustin wanted. Rosfinmonitoring included the commander of the RDK in the list of extremists and terrorists.

  • Denis Kapustin, a citizen of Russia, moved to Kyiv in 2017. Before the start of the full-scale war, he organized fight clubs for people of ultra-right views. He himself, being known under the pseudonym White Rex, also adheres to them. Due to his far-right activities, Kapustin was banned from entering the Schengen area for 10 years in 2019, however, according to the Bellingcat investigative group, he still visited Germany and France.
  • The Russian volunteer corps is an armed formation fighting on the side of Ukraine, but consisting, as it is claimed, exclusively of Russian citizens. It is known that RDK fighters organized several raids on Bryansk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine, during which several servicemen of the Russian army were taken prisoner, and several more were killed. According to numerous statements by the fighters of the Russian Volunteer Corps, their goal is “liberation of their land from Putin’s regime.” In Russia, the RDK is recognized as a terrorist organization.
