In North Ossetia, 12 members of Aslan Hagiyev’s gang were convicted

On Wednesday, the court in North Ossetia completed the trial in the case of the so-called gang of Aslan Hagiyev. 12 defendants received terms ranging from 12 years in prison to life imprisonment, TASS reports.
The court found the members of the gang guilty of 37 murders in the territory of Moscow, the Moscow region and North Ossetia, an attempt on four people, an attempt on the life of three police officers, the kidnapping of two and the illegal deprivation of liberty of one person, as well as the use of false documents and the illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition.
Inal Zaseev and former police officer Ruslan Yurtov were sentenced to life imprisonment. They were found guilty of 16 and 11 murders, respectively.
According to Kavkaz.Realii, Aslan Gagiev, nicknamed Jako, was one of the most famous criminal authorities in Russia. His group had more than 40 participants and existed for nine years – from 2004 to 2013. The gang is credited with about 60 murders in Moscow, Moscow region and North Ossetia.
The case of Hagiyev himself is now being considered by the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don. Hagiyev confessed to the murder of the Deputy Prime Minister of North Ossetia, Kazbek Pagiyev, and named Zurab Makiyev, a former member of the State Duma from United Russia, as the mastermind of the crime. Hagiyev demands that the investigation officially name all those who ordered him to kill and release “the innocent who were punished in this case.”
