In Novosibirsk, four participants in the war in Ukraine are going to teach at a school or college, for this they have undergone the appropriate retraining. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Education.

One of them – former police officer Andrey Prokofiev – was trained in the “History” program and already conducted a “courage lesson” at school No. 121. He also decided to donate “part of his trophies” to the school museum, “Vesty. Novosibirsk” reported. It is not specified what these trophies are, the message only mentions camouflage uniforms and elements of soldiers’ equipment. It is noted that Prokofiev volunteered for the war in Ukraine.

A participant in the war, Andrey Kochubeev from Berdsk, said that he was “ready to share his experience” at the lessons of the OBJ. Another ex-military Semen Baranov is going to teach physical education. Details about the fourth teacher are not disclosed, Sibir.Realii writes.

The education of war participants is paid for by the budget. They are offered 28 programs to choose from. At the same time, the profession of a teacher is not the most popular among former military personnel, the most popular professions are the plumber, electrician and controller of the technical condition of transport. A total of 24 applications were submitted for them.

  • In October 2023, a group of deputies from United Russia submitted a bill to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, allowing those convicted of a number of serious and especially serious crimes to work as teachers and coaches for minors.
  • In early September, Russia opened a retraining center for participants in the war in Ukraine to teach “Fundamentals of Safety and Protection of the Homeland” in schools (the new name is OBJ – Basics of Life Safety). Ex-servicemen will start teaching in schools from the next academic year.
  • The invasion of Ukraine, launched by Russia in February 2022, had a strong impact on school education in Russia. In particular, schoolchildren are drawn to sewing clothes for the military, making trench candles and camouflage nets, and in the schools and kindergartens themselves, advertisements for contract service are posted. For high school students, “Initial military training” was introduced in the OBJ course, 140 hours per hour were allocated to it (12% of the total academic time), the course itself was renamed, and pro-Kremlin narratives about the war and the “collective West” including quotes from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin , included in the history course.
