In Russia, a case of terrorism has been initiated due to the shelling of Belgorod

The Investigative Committee of Russia announced the initiation of a criminal case on the article about the terrorist attack after the shelling of Belgorod on February 15.

The department’s statement says that the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed “to identify all persons guilty of crimes against civilians, including those who gave criminal orders to attack the civilian population and infrastructure.”

On Thursday afternoon, a shopping center in Belgorod came under fire. Seven people died, including a one-year-old child. 19 people were injured, including four children. Five high-rise buildings, five private houses and about 60 cars were damaged.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia said that 14 missiles launched by the Ukrainian military were shot down over the Belgorod region. Kyiv did not comment on reports of shelling.

Residents of the city reported that messages about the threat of missile danger came already after the shelling.
