The court in Primorye satisfied the appeal of the Ministry of Justice and overturned the decision of the Soviet District Court, which found the order to include journalist Daniil Gubarev in the register of “foreign agents” illegal. The publication “7×7” drew attention to this.

Gubarev is the founder of the regional publication News.vl. The journalist appeared on the list of “foreign agents” in March, after which he disputed the decision of the Ministry of Justice. In July, the district court in Primorye satisfied his claim. This was the first such case in Russia.

The Ministry of Justice noted that Gubarev should be recognized as a “foreign agent” because, according to the agency, he distributed “destructive materials supporting Western theses about the illegitimate nature of the current government” in Russia, “7×7” writes.

At the session of the court of first instance, it was about the materials of “Rain”, The Insider, Rosbalt, the video of Maksym Kats and Ekaterina Shulman. All of them are recognized as “foreign agents”. The ministry also had complaints about the posts of the Vladivostok publication News.vl, where Gubarev worked.

Gubarev left Russia and lives in Singapore.
