On March 6, an inspection of the public notification system took place in the cities of Russia. Sirens sounded, as well as a warning speech in which residents were urged to remain calm.

In St. Petersburg, a polonaise from Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s opera “Eugene Onegin” was included instead of a siren. “Fontanka” reports that initially it was planned to turn on the siren, but then they decided to change it to music.

On March 2, St. Petersburg was attacked by a group of drones. The city airport of Pulkovo was temporarily closed for the reception and departure of planes – the so-called “Carpet” plan was introduced to ensure the safety of flights of civil courts. It was reported about the work of air defense over the Gulf of Finland. Local residents wrote on social networks about the sounds of explosions.

Presumably due to the fall of the drone, an explosion occurred in a residential building in the north of St. Petersburg. The governor of the city, Alexander Beglov, also reported on the incident. “There are no victims. The glazing of the balconies of two houses was partially damaged. Residents of the affected apartments have been evacuated,” Beglov wrote. He did not specify the reason for the “incident”.

According to the city health committee, six people sought medical help, one woman was hospitalized.
