Former Russian presidential candidate Boris Nadezhdin announced the recruitment of election observers.

The CEC of Russia did not allow Nadezhdin to participate in the presidential elections due to “a lack of signatures”, so he cannot direct observers to the precincts on his own.

From whom the directions will be issued is not specified on the Nadezhda website. Radio Liberty said in its press service that this is “for now a secret.” At the same time, those who wish to observe are asked to leave their contact information, including a link to a page on a social network.

You can get a referral to the site from a registered candidate, his party, his proxies, or from the Public Chamber, which in February concluded an agreement on “joint observation” of the presidential elections with 17 parties. The CPRF did not join the agreement.

Nadezhdin was the only anti-war candidate for the post of President of Russia. The politician managed to collect more than two hundred thousand signatures of Russians in support of his nomination. The CEC found more than 15% defects in these signatures compared to the permissible 5%. Nadezhdin failed to challenge the refusal in court.

  • Voting in the presidential elections of Russia will take place from March 15 to 17, 2024. Elections in Russia are assessed by independent observers and experts as not free and dishonest. The authorities intervene in the election process, create advantages for pro-power candidates, and in some cases there are direct falsifications.
