In Russia, they blocked the website of the digital project “Prodolzhenie slede”, which was created by journalists of the publication “Novaya Gazeta”. The “Roskomsvoboda” project, which monitors changes in the register of prohibited resources, drew attention to this.
The blocking decision was made on May 8 by an “unspecified state body” on the basis of an unknown decision. Blocking of the project is carried out with all domains and subdomains, it is specified in the message.
“To be continued” appeared in November 2020. As reported on the project’s website, their main platform has become YouTube, where podcasts, interviews and discussions based on investigations are published.
In 2022, after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, in Russia, according to the “Network Freedoms” project, the number of blocking of Internet resources and the number of criminal prosecutions for expressing an opinion on the Internet increased to a record. In just one hour, experts recorded more than 637 thousand cases of blocking of Internet pages – this is an absolute record for 15 years of observation.
