In St. Petersburg, more than 400 foreign citizens who, according to the Russian authorities, have violated migration legislation, will be forcibly deported from Russia. This was reported in the press service of the St. Petersburg courts on Saturday.

In the last week, law enforcement officers conducted mass raids in St. Petersburg, as well as in a number of other Russian cities, on places where migrants stay. According to reports, over the past five days, almost 600 cases of violation of migration legislation have been filed in St. Petersburg courts. 418 violators were fined with forced deportation from the country. As “Fontanka” reports, they are placed in the Center for Temporary Detention of Foreign Citizens. At the same time, the Human Rights Commissioner’s office reported earlier that the only similar center in St. Petersburg can accommodate a maximum of 336 people.

About 50 more foreigners are expected to leave Russia on their own.

Earlier, the human rights project “First Department” reported that law enforcement agencies are conducting a large-scale “Anti-migrant” operation in St. Petersburg. One of the lawyers, representing the interests of foreigners, said that deportations have already begun – migrants are being sent out of the country en masse by plane.

As “Vazhnye istorii” previously reported, in Moscow, over the past week, almost 1.5 thousand cases of violation of migration legislation have been brought to the courts.

On March 22, there was an attack on the “Crocus City Hall” concert hall in the Moscow region, the victims of which, according to the latest data, were 144 people. 4 natives of Tajikistan have been arrested on suspicion of carrying out a terrorist attack. After the terrorist attack, security measures were strengthened in many Russian cities and raids and inspections of foreigners began.

Human rights activists reported that only in the first days after the terrorist attack in “Crocus City Hall” they were approached by thousands of migrants who faced checks by employees of the Russian law enforcement agencies. They talked about the fact that foreigners are taken to police stations by the dozens and kept there sometimes. Journalists of the “Migrant. Media” project collected evidence of foreigners in Russia.

The Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of Tajikistan recorded the outflow of labor migrants from Russia after the terrorist attack in “Crocus City Hall”. Deputy Minister of Labor of Tajikistan Shahnoz Nodyra told TASS about this. According to her, many citizens of the country are “panicking” and want to leave Russia. She noted that “at the everyday level” harassment of citizens of Tajikistan is recorded, threatening messages were sent to the representative office of the Ministry of Labor in Russia after the terrorist attack. At the same time, the Russian authorities officially declare the inadmissibility of xenophobia.
