The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced the early start of school vacations in the border areas of the region with Ukraine, as well as in Belgorod and the Yakovlev city district, where fighting resumed the day before. Schoolchildren in other districts of the region will go on vacation as planned – from Monday. Students of universities and colleges will continue to study, but remotely, the head of the region added.

On Tuesday morning, Gladkov announced that nine thousand children would be evacuated from Belgorod and the border areas of the region.

In addition, according to the decision of the operational staff of the Belgorod region, from March 20, entry to seven settlements of the Graivoronsky district, from which residents began to be resettled, will be restricted.

According to the governor, posts will appear at the entrance to the city of Graivoron, as well as the following villages: Kozinka, Gora-Podol, Glotovo, Novostroevka-pervaya, Novostroevka-vtoraya and Bezymeno. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian Guard, the border service, the Ministry of Defense and administration officials will be at the posts. They will, in particular, ensure safe passage of residents to their homes and farms to feed cattle and pets. The authorities will continue to persuade local residents to leave their homes, Gladkov added.

From March 21, residents of 16 settlements of the Graivoronsk district will be given free food kits. Earlier in Belgorod, fast food restaurants “Delicious and Point” temporarily stopped working, “Vkusvilla” delivery does not work. Shopping centers are closed. In addition, the authorities exempted residents of 13 settlements from paying housing and communal services for March.

On Tuesday, fighting resumed on Ukraine’s border with Russia’s Belgorod region. This is reported by Russian pro-military Telegram channels, as well as by the “Russian Voluntary Corps” (RDK) fighting on the side of Ukraine and other volunteer formations consisting mainly of Russians.

The video of the fight, reportedly taken in the village of Kozinka, is published in the Telegram channel of the Russian Democratic Republic of the Republic of Moldova – it is located not far from the border in the Belgorod Region. Last week, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian military tried to take this village, but the attack was repulsed.

The Russian Telegram channel “Rybar” confirms that “clashes are taking place in the area of Kozinka”. On Tuesday evening, the governor of the Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, wrote in a telegram that there is a “difficult situation” in the village of Kozinka, and the authorities cannot evacuate seven people from there, as access to them is “difficult” due to constant shelling.

In just one week, 16 people were killed in the Belgorod region as a result of shelling and fighting, and about 100 were injured.

After the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Belgorod region often comes under fire, and in May-June of last year, detachments of the RDC penetrated its territory for a while. New attempts to break through the border began at the beginning of last week. The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine states that the RDC and other similar formations (Legion “Freedom of Russia”, “Siberian Battalion”) operate independently, but the Ukrainian military provides them with support. The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has called twice in recent days to deal with the fighters of these formations, calling them traitors.
