In the case of an attempt on Solovyov, the charges were toughened

The Investigative Committee of Russia has accused seven defendants in the case of the attempt on TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov of participation in a terrorist organization. This is reported by “Kommersant” with reference to their lawyers.

According to the new article in the criminal case, the accused faces up to 20 years in prison. They are also charged with several more articles on the storage and manufacture of weapons and explosive devices and on the destruction or damage of property. The criminal case is being handled by the investigators of the Office for the Investigation of War Crimes, Genocide and the Rehabilitation of Nazism of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Initially, only the article about the preparation by an organized group to kill a person or his relatives in connection with the implementation of official activities or the fulfillment of a public duty was considered to be revealed.

It is known that two of the accused, 41-year-old Vasyl Stryzhakov and 32-year-old Maksym Druzhinin, have pleaded not guilty to the crime they are accused of.

In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the FSB announced the arrest of alleged members of a terrorist group, which, according to authorities, was planning an assassination attempt on Vladimir Solovyov (one of the most famous VGTRK TV presenters who advocates pro-Kremlin positions). It was claimed that the order to kill Soloviev came from the SBU. In Ukraine, they said that they had nothing to do with this case. Neither Putin, the FSB, nor the journalist himself presented evidence of the preparation of an attempt on Solovyov.
