In the Kaliningrad region, fines of up to 50,000 rubles will be imposed for inducing a woman to have an abortion. The corresponding law was adopted by an absolute majority by the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the region, TASS reports.

According to the law, the inclination to abortion is recognized as “a threat to the family, fatherhood, motherhood and childhood”. Actions “related to persuasion and deception” are called “inclination” in the law. At the same time, the deputies specified that informing a woman about medical indications for artificial termination of pregnancy does not fall under the penalty article.

Fines for citizens will be up to 5 thousand rubles, and for legal entities – up to 50 thousand rubles.

  • Russian authorities are actively discussing measures to restrict women’s rights to abortion. The question reached the State Duma. Recently, fines for propensity to abortion were introduced in Mordovia and Tver region. Private clinics in Tatarstan, Kursk and Chelyabinsk regions and annexed Crimea have already refused to perform abortions.
