In the village of Volna, Krasnodar Territory, on the night of May 3, a tank with petroleum products caught fire. According to preliminary data, there are no dead or injured. Veniamin Kondratiev, the governor of the region, reported this in his Telegram channel. He did not specify the cause of the fire.
As follows from these maps, the port of Taman and the “Tamanneftegaz” storage facility are located near the village. As noted by RBC, the Taman oil and petroleum product transshipment complex is also located there.
The fire has been assigned the highest level of severity. The head of the Temryuk district, Fedor Babenkov, reported that the area of the fire is 1,200 square meters.
According to Baza Telegram channel, the probable cause of the fire is a drone attack. Shortly before the fire, eyewitnesses heard an explosion, the publication clarifies. A user in “VKontakte” writes that flames are visible in Kerch on the Crimean coast.
On the night of April 29, a fire broke out at an oil depot in Sevastopol, annexed by Russia. Radio Liberty published satellite images of an oil storage facility that was allegedly attacked by a Ukrainian drone. The pictures show that 8 to 10 tanks with fuel for the Black Sea Fleet of Russia were damaged as a result of the impact. The Armed Forces called the attack one of the elements of preparation for a counteroffensive.
