During the night attack of the Russians, regional energy networks in the Lviv region were damaged, and due to the return of the heat, electricity consumption increased throughout the country.
She reported about it press service Ukrenergo.
In total, 404 settlements have been cut off due to hostilities. Emergency recovery work is ongoing in Lviv Oblast, where networks were damaged during a night rocket attack. There was also damage in the Dnipropetrovsk region, currently all consumers have recovered.
In addition, the Russians damaged networks in Donetsk region, Sumy region, Kharkiv region and Kherson region. Due to the security situation, power is being restored.
The return of heat together with the beginning of the working week led to the fact that on Monday the maximum consumption increased immediately by 7% compared to the previous day (Sunday), and by 2.4% compared to the previous working day on August 11 (Friday).
Such a rapid increase in consumption greatly overloads the power system, because due to large-scale repairs at many power plants, the ability to attract additional capacities is significantly limited. Ukrenergo explains that for the energy system, a 7% increase in maximum consumption per day means the need to quickly include at least 3 additional units at thermal power plants.
On Tuesday, electricity is imported from Slovakia, Poland, and Moldova throughout the day with a maximum capacity of up to 1,048 MW in individual hours. There is no export.
Currently, two units at the power plants, which were subjected to massive enemy rocket attacks in the winter, have been taken out for emergency repairs. Large-scale repairs continue at many TPPs, some nuclear power units are also undergoing planned repairs. This significantly limits the ability to ensure growing consumption, especially in the evening hours, Ukrenergo added.
