Residents of Lytkarino near Moscow reported an explosion and fire near the substation on Thursday night. After that, the city and several other nearby settlements were left without power.
An eyewitness to the incident told the SHOT Telegram channel that around night time he saw “a bright glow in the sky and heard a whistling, buzzing, and almost ultrasound sound” from the side of the electrical substation. Local residents suggested that the reason could be a drone attack, MSK1.RU reported.
The same SHOT channel writes that, according to preliminary data, the state of emergency is connected with a short circuit at the electrical substation.
The administration of Lytkarino later stated that the incident occurred in the village of Molokovo of the Leninsky district, which is located not far from Lytkarino. A few hours later, after the emergency shutdown of the substation, the power supply in the city was restored.
On August 9 of this year, eyewitnesses reported an explosion in Molokovo. The Ministry of Defense of Russia and the mayor of Moscow then announced the attack by drones, but assured that all the drones had been neutralized, Meduza notes.
