Four current and former police officers in the Novosibirsk region have been detained or arrested in connection with the murder of 15-year-old schoolgirl Natalya Matyukhina. According to the investigation, the crime was committed in 2010.

According to the investigation, in the spring of 2010, 15-year-old Natalya Matyukhina was hit by a car with two drunken policemen Maksym Kudryavtsev and Evgeny Bartolome in the Ust-Tar district in the west of the region. The accused, who were working in the internal affairs department at the time of the crime, took the teenager from the scene of the accident and killed him to cover up the accident. The policemen soon resigned from the service. Before that, they allegedly told their colleagues about what happened. Kudryavtsev is charged under the articles of the Criminal Code with violation of traffic rules, causing serious harm to a person’s health, with protecting a person and with murder. Bartholomew is charged with murder and kidnapping, Kunts with murder. They face life imprisonment.
