In the village of Shaidurikha, Sverdlovsk region, 41 houses burned down due to a forest fire. Residents were told by emergency services that “everything is under control.” This was reported by the “Kedr” publication.

According to official data, the fire destroyed 13 residential buildings and almost three dozen summer cottages. 35 people, including three children, were left with housing. There were no casualties, most of the villagers were evacuated.

The regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the buildings caught fire on July 12. At the same time, local residents noted that the smell of fire and ash began to reach the village earlier. “Just the day before yesterday, ash was all over the village, there was nothing to breathe! Everyone called the emergency services, and they told us: “Everything is under control!” You are in control,” said a local resident.

The governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Yevgeny Kuivashev, promised that all the houses in Shaidurikh will be restored.

According to “Avialesookhrany”, there are currently 317 forest fires in Russia, 118 of which the authorities have decided not to put out – all of them are recorded in the Far East. Since the beginning of the year, the fire has burned more than 2.2 million hectares of forest – 52% more than last year during the same period of time.
