Deputy Khural Tuva from “United Russia” Echis-Baldyr Nurzat shot a man at will. Telegram channel “Baza” wrote about it, and later the regional Investigative Committee confirmed it, but did not name the suspect. A 44-year-old deputy has been charged with causing death by negligence.
The investigation believes that on February 12, in the village of “Hondei” in the village of Narynskyi, Erzinsky district, the suspect saw a person through the thermal imager of an “Eger VPO-114” firearm, mistook it for an animal and shot a 38-year-old local resident. He died on the spot from his wounds.
The investigation is ongoing. The deputy was released on recognizance.
- Russian deputies and officials are periodically accused of manslaughter after shooting a person while hunting.
- In 2021, Kamchatka Oblast Duma deputy Igor Redkin shot Andriy Tolstopyatov, a resident of the village of Ozernovsky, while hunting a bear in the area of a local landfill. He was sentenced to one hour of imprisonment.
