In Ukraine, a law on exemption from the tax on destroyed real estate has been passed. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Reintegration.

“On May 6, Law No. 3050-IX signed by the President on exemption from payment of tax on real estate that was destroyed or damaged as a result of Russian aggression entered into force,” the message says.
What the law provides
The law provides that the suspension of assessment and payment of tax on destroyed or damaged real estate (except land) begins with the month in which the real estate acquired such a condition.
Supporting documents are composite documents based on the results of an inspection of such a real estate object by a state authority or a local self-government body.

Also, from January 1, 2023, the tax is not charged or paid on real estate located in the territory of active hostilities or temporary occupation (for the period from the first day of the month in which the date of the beginning of active hostilities or temporary occupation was determined relative to the respective territories, until the last day of the month in which hostilities or temporary occupation of the corresponding territory ended).

On May 10, the Ministry of Statistics launched the “eRecovery” program, which provides for the payment of funds for housing damaged or destroyed by the war.
Three thousand Ukrainians submitted applications on the first day of work of the state program of compensation for destroyed housing “eRecovery”. Among the submitted applications, 41% concern the restoration of private houses, almost 59% are apartments.
You can get up to UAH 200,000 for an apartment or house damaged as a result of hostilities, but the cost will be calculated after the applications are processed by representatives of local self-government.
