In Ukraine, inflation growth resumed after a two-month drop

Consumer prices in Ukraine increased by 0.5% in September 2023 after decreasing by 1.4% in August and 0.6% in July.

At the same time, despite the resumption of inflation growth in September, annual inflation in Ukraine fell to 7.1%

Thus, taking into account inflation in September 2022, which amounted to 1.9%, in annual terms according to the results of September 2023, it decreased to 7.1%. While according to the results of August, the annual inflation amounted to 8.6%, and according to the results of July – 11.3%.

Core inflation in September, according to the State Statistics Service, amounted to 0.9% after two months of zero.

Given that in September 2022, core inflation was 2.4%, in annual terms, according to the results of September 2023, it also decreased to 8.4%. According to the results of August, the base inflation was 10.0%, according to the results of July – 12.3%.

Since the beginning of the current year, inflation in the country was 3.0%, the base rate – 4.1%, the State Statistics Service specified.

At the end of July, the National Bank of Ukraine improved the inflation forecast for 2023 from 14.8% to 10.6%.

In 2022, inflation amounted to 26.6%. In 2021 – 10%.

Core inflation in 2022 was 22.6%. In 2021 – 7.9%.
