“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has banned the ordering and production of individual license plates containing symbols associated with the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine by totalitarian regimes,” the message says.

It is important that the ban does not apply to electric cars whose number plates contain the Latin letters Z and V. Earlier, instead of these symbols, Ukrainians were allowed to choose the letter Y, which in Cyrillic reads as У — Ukraine.

The Main Service Center specifies that the separate use of the letters Z and V, as well as instead of Z, C, V, F, falls under the ban. The ban applies to inscriptions, images and symbols of communist or Nazi regimes.

In addition, the country prohibits the production and use of individual license plates with the emblems of Russian state bodies and the Russian Armed Forces.
