About 70,000 residents in eight districts of Vladivostok were left without electricity due to an emergency power outage as a result of the cyclone. This is reported by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Primorsky Krai.
Due to the cyclone passing through the south of the Primorsky Krai, almost half of the monthly norm of precipitation fell in Vladivostok in a few hours.
Governor Oleh Kozhemyako asked employers to release employees early in order not to create a transport collapse. According to his data, the downpours affected Vladivostok, Artem, Khasansky district. The cyclone is expected to pass through the Ussuriysk, Dalnerechensky, Kirovsky and Nadezhdinsky districts, as well as the Krasnoarmeysky district.
The only tram line in Vladivostok was stopped due to the flooding of a section of roads, the federal highway Vladivostok — Khabarovsk in the suburbs was also flooded, which caused a traffic jam on the way out of the city. The head of the city administration, Konstantin Shestakov, reported about the fallen villages on two streets of Vladivostok.
In the Ussuri district, the village of Aleksey-Nikolskoe is flooded due to the overflow of the Kazachka River, regional authorities reported. In the Shkotovsky district, 10 people were cut off as a result of the flooding. Due to the overflow, the road to Lazurnaya bay is closed, in the city of Fokino, water washed away one of the bridges.
- On August 12, in the city of Ussuriysk of the Primorsky Krai, a dam protecting the city from flooding broke due to a typhoon. It is known that three people died: including two children who were pulled into the sewer pipe, more than 800 houses were flooded.
- The Primorye authorities introduced a state of emergency on a regional scale to eliminate the consequences of the typhoon.
