The case of discrediting the editor-in-chief of the pro-government mass media was closed

The October Court of Rostov closed the case of discrediting the army against the editor-in-chief of the Rostov site 1Rnd, Elena Dorovsky. The justification was the expiration of the statute of limitations.

Employees of the Rostov Center for Combating Extremism insisted on bringing the journalist to justice because of the note that the publication published last year. In it, it was said about the leaflets that appeared in the city with appeals to the Russian military to surrender, lawyer Vladimir Chesnokov said. The publication itself occupies a privileged position: after drawing up the protocol, the publication’s website published photos of numerous Dorovsky awards previously received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defense. A few days before the visit of law enforcement officers to the Dorovsky editorial office, she received the medal “For military and patriotic work”.

• In July, Rostov-on-Don sentenced pro-government blogger Sergei Rulev to prison for one hour and three months for insulting a representative of the government, contempt of court, and extortion. Rulev is known for his denunciation of Anastasia Shevchenko, the former coordinator of “Open Russia” in Rostov, his attack on an activist of Navalny’s local headquarters, and his support for the war in Ukraine, a citizen of which he was previously a citizen.
