Inflation in Ukraine accelerated. How prices have changed for the month

The growth of consumer prices in Ukraine accelerated to 0.8% per month in January 2023 compared to 0.7% in December and November last year. This is stated in Gosstat data.

At the same time, in annual terms, inflation slowed down to 26% at the end of January compared to 26.6% at the end of December and all of last year.
Base inflation in January 2023 compared to the previous calendar month amounted to 0.7% compared to January of last year — 23.3%.
How prices have changed
Among the products, fruits traveled the most – by 77%, eggs – by 73.3%, fish and fish products – by 45.5%, vegetables – by 34%, sugar – by 31.8%, butter – by 29.1% .
In addition, bread and bread products increased by 28.8%, pasta – by 27.2%, cheese and cheese – by 24.8%, meat and meat products – by 24.1%, bread – by 21.5%, milk by 19.3%, butter by 15.6%.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 0.8%, including tobacco products by 1.2%, alcoholic beverages by 0.5%.
The increase in prices in the healthcare sector by 1.2% occurred primarily due to the increase in outpatient services by 2.5% and hospital services by 2.3%.
The 1.1% increase in education services is explained by Gosstat as an 11.2% increase in fees for the maintenance of children in preschool institutions.
Clothing and footwear fell in price by 5.1%, including clothing — by 5.9%, footwear — by 4.2%.
By 3.3-0.2%, the prices of processed grain products, rice, lard, and sugar fell.
Transport prices decreased by 0.1% due to a 2% decrease in the price of fuel and lubricants. At the same time, travel in railway passenger transport increased by 3.2%.
