The former head of the NBU appealed to the court about the announcement of his wanted person

The former head of the National Bank, Kirill Shevchenko, appealed to the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court against his being wanted by NABU, stating that he is not hiding from the investigation and is ready to participate in investigative actions in the format of a video conference. He wrote about it on Facebook.

“I continue to fight against the illegal publication of my wanted list and file a corresponding complaint with the VAKS. NABU and SAP have known my address since the first day of my stay in Austria. However, my messages about this together with the official documents of the Austrian authorities are deliberately ignored. I never hid from the investigation. I am ready, even more so, I insist on participating in investigative actions via video conference. However, it scares someone very much,” Shevchenko wrote.

According to him, “NABU did not take any action on his search, which, in fact, was confirmed by the investigative judge of the VAKS when considering the petition to extend the term of the pre-trial investigation.”
“The resolution on the search is not adopted for the purpose of the search, but in order to “issue” the most severe measure of suppression,” Shevchenko noted.
The ex-chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine added that he filed a complaint against the actions of the SAP prosecutor, who refused the request to cancel the search warrant.
Background
On October 6, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau informed the head of the National Bank of Kirill Shevchenko about suspicion. The criminal proceedings against him concern the period when he headed Ukrgazbank.

Later, Shevchenko wrote on Facebook that the information about the announcement of the suspicion came as a surprise to him — he learned about it from the media while he was abroad for treatment.
