The Italian authorities have frozen the assets of the son of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk region, businessman Artem Uss, who escaped from house arrest in March. This was reported by Il Messaggero newspaper with reference to the decree of the Minister of Economy and Finance of Italy Giancarlo Giorgetta.

According to the publication, among the seized assets are a villa in Basilio and a garage near Milan, more than 160,000 euros in an account at Banco di Sardegna and 40.11% of shares in Luxury Sardinia.

In early April, it became known that Artem Uss escaped from house arrest in Italy. This happened after the court of first instance in Italy approved a request for the extradition of Uss to the USA, where he is suspected of criminal activity aimed, among other things, at circumventing the sanctions regime against Russia. RIA “Novosti” reported with reference to Uss himself that he is in Russia.

In Russia, a criminal case has been initiated against Uss under the article of large-scale money laundering by an organized group. The Municipal Court of Moscow issued a sanction for his arrest in absentia. This happened after Uss was detained in Italy. The businessman’s lawyer, Vladimir Zherebenkov, directly said that this case “is designed to get Ussa out of Italy.”

  • On April 20, the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, announced his resignation. In the Telegram channel, he wrote that the other day he met with President Vladimir Putin and received an offer to “continue work at the federal level.” As Uss emphasized, in his new position he will continue to “deal with issues of social and economic development” of the region. What this position is, Uss did not specify.
