A criminal case has been opened in Russia against DOXA journalist Maria Menshikova on charges of justifying terrorism. This was reported by the publication “Baza”. The matter has not yet been officially announced.

According to “Baza”, the reason for prosecuting Menshikova, who heads the news department of DOXA, was a public post of the publication on the VKontakte network, in which the editors called on people accused in Russia of arson of military enlistment centers to write letters. According to the investigation, this publication contains signs of justification of terrorism and incitement to terrorist activity.

In recent months, Russian investigative bodies treat such cases as terrorist attacks. A number of court sentences have already been handed down on similar charges.

As DOXA clarifies, Menshikova is now outside Russia, in Germany. “In the fascist regime, everything is turned upside down: war is peace, freedom is slavery,” she commented on the message, noting that the authorities equate “solidarity of indifferent people” with terrorism.

DOXA takes an anti-military position, calling, in particular, for Russian servicemen to surrender as prisoners in Ukraine, and for Russians in general to avoid conscription.

The day before, the “Important Histories” edition reported that last year, 274 people were convicted on charges of public incitement to terrorism in Russia. According to “OVD-Info” estimates, almost 50 people were accused of anti-war posts on social networks in the public justification of terrorism.
