The court closed the case on limiting the rights of Masha Moskaleva’s parents

On Friday, the Efremovsky Interdistrict Court of the Tula Region closed the case on limiting the parental rights of the father and mother of Masha Moskaleva, a girl who drew an anti-war picture at school. This is reported by OVD-Info with reference to the lawyer Vladimir Bilyenko.

On April 19, the Juvenile Affairs Commission of the city of Efremov in the Tula region refused the corresponding claim. This was stated by the head of the commission, Svetlana Davydova. According to her, the shortcomings mentioned in the lawsuit have already been eliminated.

Earlier, the official stated that the Moskalyov family has been on the “prophylactic register of families in a socially dangerous situation” since May 2022. Masha’s father, Alexey Moskalyov, was brought to administrative responsibility twice and allegedly made no attempt to return his daughter to school, while the girl’s mother, Olga Sytchikhina, lived separately and was not interested in her life, the commission said.

Now, according to Davydova, Masha Moskalyova, who spent some time in an orphanage after her father’s arrest, lives with her mother, and the guardianship authorities have no complaints against her.

Vladimir Bilyenko noted that preserving parental rights for Masha’s father would be an important moral victory, and thanked “all the caring people who worried about this family.” Bilyenko is confident that the transfer of Masha’s mother is an initiative of higher authorities.

The whereabouts of Alexei Moskalev himself, who previously raised his daughter alone, has been unknown since the end of March, when he was detained in Belarus.

• Masha’s father, Alexey Moskalyov, raised his daughter alone. The mother, Olga Sytchikhina, had not spoken to them for a long time.
• In the father’s social networks, the police found comments in support of Ukraine, as well as caricatures of Russian President Vladimir Putin. After that, Alexey Moskalyov was first reported under the article of the Administrative Code on the discrediting of the Russian army, fined 32 thousand rubles, and then a criminal case was opened on the same charge. After Moskalyov’s arrest, his daughter was sent to an orphanage, and then given to her mother, who expressed her readiness to “break” her 13-year-old daughter’s thoughts about politics.
• Alexey Moskalyov was sentenced to two years in prison on charges of discrediting the Russian army. The verdict was handed down in absentia, since, according to the judge, Moskalyov escaped from house arrest the night before the trial. He was later found in Belarus and reportedly extradited to Russia.
